Where did Nanga Parbat get its name?

Nanga Parbat gets its name from the Sanskrit words Nanga and Parvata, which mean the naked mountain.

Due to its unpredictable weather and its climbers’ high fatality rate, Nanga Parbat is called the killer mountain.

But it is not a fact; Nanga Parbat is located in the Himalayan range of Gilgit Baltistan. It is not located in Kashmir. Just going deep into history, in 1953, Herman Buhl, an Austrian mountaineer, was the first summiteer to successfully summit the Nanga Parbat.
