Peaky Blinders has taken the world by storm with its thrilling storyline, captivating characters, and gorgeous cinematography. The show has been a massive success, raking in millions of dollars worldwide and capturing the hearts of audiences across the globe. However, it seems like its popularity has taken a hold of our youth, particularly among male viewers who have fallen in love with the show’s enigmatic lead, Tommy Shelby. With his sigma male personality and charming habits, the show has inspired many young men to adopt some of his behaviors, including excessive smoking. But little did they know, they were being pranked all along.
In my personal experience, I’ve noticed a disturbing trend among my friends. Many of them started smoking after being inspired by the show and its portrayal of smoking as a cool and sophisticated habit. The media has a profound impact on the youth and it’s important to be aware of the messages that it’s sending. I recall a conversation with my friend Ali, who had taken up smoking. When I asked him why he started, he simply replied, “I am Tommy Shelby”. This anecdote highlights just how powerful the media can be in shaping our perceptions and actions.
It wasn’t until several days later that I stumbled upon an interview with the actor who portrays Tommy Shelby, Cillian Murphy. In the interview, he revealed that during the filming of Peaky Blinders, he was actually smoking non-nicotine, non-toxic cigarettes. According to studies, the show contains over 200 smoking scenes, which has raised concerns about its potential impact on the youth. However, with the knowledge that these scenes were actually just non-toxic smokes, it becomes less of a concern. This serves as a reminder that what we see on screen is not always representative of reality and it’s important to fact-check before being influenced by media.
Peaky Blinders might have been a big hit, but it seems like our youth might have been hoodwinked by the show’s misleading habits. Who would have thought that the intense smoking scenes featuring the suave Tommy Shelby were actually just non-toxic, non-nicotine smokes? So, before you go all-in and try to emulate your favorite characters, make sure to get your facts straight! Otherwise, you might just end up being a prankster’s latest victim.

Absolutely right Baqir , When I saw this series I fell in love with with the toxic character Tommy Shelby but never acquired his smoking portaited traits as we all now it is work of fiction nothing was portaid that could be able to adopt so just watch it as a sake of content lover not as lurking for bad haibits.
The Series shows an image of the WEST, or I should say ‘the Early West’.
The smoke is not an actual cigarette product, it is just a flavor with minimum harm, specially designed for the series.
And, Yep, we are as copiers as the West itself. But the difference is that, they copied our knowledge, and we copy their culture… mentality… you know better…
